Understanding the Product Classification of Sliding Bearings

Author:

According to the direction of bearing load, it can be divided into radial (centripetal) sliding bearings and thrust (axial) sliding bearings.

According to the types of lubricants, they can be divided into seven categories: oil-lubricated bearings, Grease-Lubricated bearings, water-lubricated bearings, gas bearings, solid-lubricated bearings, magnetohydrodynamic bearings and electromagnetic bearings.

According to the thickness of lubrication film, it can be divided into thin film lubrication bearings and thick film lubrication bearings.

According to the bearing material can be divided into bronze bearings, cast iron bearings, plastic bearings, gem bearings, powder metallurgy bearings, self-lubricating bearings and oil bearing.

According to the structure of bearing bush, it can be divided into round bearing, elliptical bearing, three-oil-leaf bearing, step bearing, tilting pad bearing and foil bearing.

Bearing Bush is divided into split and integral structure. In order to improve the friction properties of the bearing bush surface, one or two layers of friction reducing materials are often cast on its inner diameter surface, which is usually called bearing liner. Therefore, the bearing bush has bimetallic and trimetallic bearing bushes.

Bearing bush or bearing liner is an important part of sliding bearing. The material of bearing bush and bearing liner is collectively called bearing material. Because the bearing bush or bearing liner is in direct contact with the journal, generally the journal part is relatively wear-resistant, so the main failure form of the bearing bush is wear.

The wear of bearing bush is directly related to material of journal, material of bearing bush itself, lubricant and lubrication condition. These factors should be taken into account when selecting bearing bush material to improve service life and working performance of sliding bearing.
